Mediation Services
The hourly rate is divided evenly among the parties unless the parties agree to divide the hourly rate otherwise. There is a minimum of a 2-hour mediation fee ($400) for all mediations. Mediation typically last between 4 and 8 hours. Payment is due in full at the end of mediation.
$500/retirement asset
Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
Choice Legal Services will complete the Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) for non-military retirement assets at a flat rate of $500 per retirement asset. Clients must provide a statement (or identifying information, name of administrator, account number, and contact information) of the asset to be divided and be willing to provide personal information (i.e. social security number, birthdate, name, address, phone number, etc.) for the beneficiary and alternate payee. Choice Legal Services will generally complete the QDRO within 14 days of receiving the information, barring delays from the administrator, and provide the draft of the proposed Order to the opposing party. After the seven-day review window has passed, Choice Legal Services will submit the proposed QDRO to the court for entry. Upon entry, Choice Legal Services will provide the signed copy to the administrator for division. If the administrator requires a certified copy of the QDRO, then an additional $100 will be charged for attorney time and court fees to procure the certified copy.
There is an early cancellation fee of 2 hours ($360) if the mediation is cancelled less than seven days prior to the scheduled mediation date and if the mediation is not rescheduled with Choice Legal Services.
